Employee Benefits
Employee benefits play a crucial role in attracting and retaining talent in today's competitive job market. Pension
All employees are required to join a retirement fund of their choice from a selection of funds to which the company belongs. The employer makes a generous contribution to the pension fund on each employee’s behalf and each employee turn contributes a percentage of their salary toward ensuring a comfortable retirement.
Risk
Various risk benefits, which could include; group life cover, disability, income protection and dread disease cover accrue to employees by virtue of their participation in the various retirement funds. These benefits provide cover and benefits that would be much more expensive if the employee had to purchase the cover in their personal capacities.
Annual Leave
Employees in operations receive 21 consecutive days leave per annum for their first two years of service and 30 consecutive days leave per annum thereafter. Support office employees receive 15 working days annual leave in their first two years of service and 20 working days annual leave thereafter.
Funeral
A funeral benefit is provided that covers employees, their spouses and children. In addition, employees can purchase funeral cover for their extended families at very favourable rates when compared to the retail market.
Medical Aid
The company belongs to the Discovery Medical Aid scheme and all employees from a certain level upwards are required to join while the scheme is available to all other employees who wish to join. The company contributes 50% of the contributions up to a certain plan level. The scheme has a wide variety of plans, which suit most needs and pockets. In addition, there are other plans available from other providers for those employees who are not required to join the Discovery Scheme.

Thirteenth Cheque
Employees below manager level and hotel general managers receive a 13th cheque over and above base pay and benefits
Long Service Award
There are generous long service awards provided to employees who provide service continually from 5 years onwards every 5 years.
Short and Long Term Incentive Schemes
Management employees are eligible to join the long and/or short-term incentive schemes that are applicable to their level of employment
WOW Rewards
Our internal recognition and reward programme, WOW, fosters a culture where staff and guests are encouraged to acknowledge exceptional performance.
Employee Share Ownership Scheme
The company currently offers participation in an employee share ownership plan (ESOP) for employees below senior management level. Employees are eligible to participate in the scheme after one year of service and enjoy a share of the dividend that the scheme earns and a distribution of shares if there has been a growth in the share price year on year.
