Jhb Children's Home hosts wine auction
The Johannesburg Children's Home will host its third annual gala dinner and wine auction on May 28, at 18:30 at the Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City. The event is a fundraising initiative to support the work of the Johannesburg Children's Home, which provides care and support to 64 vulnerable children. Many of the children have experienced loss and hardship and rely on the home for safety, stability, and therapeutic services.
The organisation has been operating for more than 134 years and continues to provide residential care and psycho social support to children in need.
This year, the home aims to raise R500 000 through the auction. Funds will go towards counselling, therapeutic services, and other essential programmes that support the children's well-being and development.
Guests will be served a six-course dinner prepared by chefs from the City Lodge Group. The evening will also include a selection of wines curated by winemaker Niel Groenewald.
Attendees will be able to bid on wine lots during the auction. Tickets are available as group tables for eight people at R12 000, mainly aimed at companies, and couples tables for two people at R3 000, with limited availability.
