For some, there’s nothing worse than having your holiday plans ruined by wet, miserable weather. For others, however, the rain, wind and cold are the perfect excuse to relax and spend more time with their feet up.

Unfortunately, whether you like it or not, the weather will do what it wants. Ultimately, it’s up to you to change your outlook, and possibly even your plans, to make your holiday a time of rest, relaxation and, of course, fun.

HERE ARE FOUR HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES THAT COULD ACT AS ALTERNATIVES FOR WHEN MISERABLE WEATHER STRIKES:

1. KEEP WARM WITH COFFEES AND GOOD CONVERSATION:CLHG_2

Your beach plans may have changed, thanks to the weather, but that doesn’t mean you have to sit in your hotel room all day. Instead, invite some friends to meet you at a nearby coffee shop or #Café and enjoy a hot beverage while you catch up.

2. RAIN, RAIN YOU CAN STAY, I’LL READ MY BOOK ALL DAY:

A downpour or a light drizzle, it doesn’t matter, rain is the perfect excuse to start a new book or pick up the one you’ve been meaning to get into again. Why not make a day of it?

Instead of vegging out in front of the TV, why not spend the day with your nose buried in a book under a warm blanket?

CLHG_13. MEGA MOVIE MARATHON AND TV SHOWS:

Miserable weather, especially when it’s cold and wet, is ideal for movie marathons and binge watching a new favourite TV show.

Great marathon movies include the Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Matrix, Mad Max, Jurassic Park, The Lord of the Rings, Batman, Back To The Future, Die Hard, Fast & Furious, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Terminator and almost any Marvel superhero movie.
We also suggest pairing your movie/TV day with popcorn and hot chocolate to keep yourself cosy.

4. CHANGE UP YOUR PLANS:

So, a bit of bad weather has ruined your plans? Why don’t you change them? This may sound obvious, and in fact, it is. Always remember, regardless of the weather, your holiday still belongs to you and it’s up to you to make the most out of it.

So what if the weather is a little (or a lot) miserable, at least you can change your mind and your plans to suit you. Remember, your holiday, your choice!

Can’t think of anything to do? Why not go for a game of miniature golf? Perhaps find a nearby ice rink or try visiting a nearby museum? The choice is yours.
