Just because you’re used to hopping on and off planes doesn’t automatically make you a travel savvy frequent flyer.

So, we’re here to help. There are a number of ways to make sure your trip runs smoothly and is less stressful.

‘How’ you ask? Easy! All travel savvy flyers know that preparation plays a big part in making sure your trip goes smoothly. Here are our travel tips for frequent flyers:

DON’T LEAVE THINGS TO THE LAST MINUTE:

This may seem obvious but people often leave their packing to the last minute. Not being prepared creates unnecessary stress. We advise you do the following the night before your trip:

  1. Pack your suitcase and hand luggage. You don’t want to be running around in the morning trying to find things before heading off to the airport.
  2. Draw money. If you’re going to buy coffee at the airport, having cash means you don’t have to wait for a card machine. Having cash also means you can buy snacks and drinks while on the plane.
  3. Charge your phone. Make sure you plug your phone in overnight so that it’s fully charged before you leave home. There’s nothing worse than landing and not being able to get hold of your family or work colleagues to tell them you’ve landed safely.

AVOID QUEUES:

Let’s face it, nobody likes queues and thanks to technology you can now avoid standing in queues to book in. Most airlines allow you to check in online, which means no standing in long lines.

SAY NO TO EXTRA COSTS:

This tip is for nervous flyers and those of you who want to save money during your trip – pack snacks.

Nowadays airlines charge for snacks and drinks, even a bottle of water costs a pretty penny. Pack yourself a little snack pack to take your mind off things if you’re a nervous flyer or you want to save money.

Another tip if you’re looking to save money is to have someone drop you off and pick you up. This way your car won’t incur parking costs while you’re away. Let’s face it, airport parking is a bit expensive.

Now that you’ve read our tips and have officially become a travel savvy frequent flyer, can you think of any tips that could help others have a less stressful experience while traveling?
