What does freedom mean to you? Yes on a fundamental level it’s all about our equal human rights, but we want to get a bit philosophical with you for a moment…
To travel is to find your home wherever you go. That need is what spurred on the building of the first City Lodge Hotel, and is what keeps us expanding to new “homes”. We understand that type of freedom.
FREE TO SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE
Ever noticed how giving yourself a little distance can put things into perspective? When you travel – no matter how far you go – the little things start to nag less and it’s easier to focus on what’s actually important.
Anything from seeing how others live in a different area, to discovering a new way of doing something that you never would have known about had you stayed put – all these little by-products of travel allow you to form fuller views about issues closer to home.
FREEDOM IS FINDING THAT YOU ARE THE DESTINATION AT THE END OF A JOURNEY
Every time we open ourselves up to new experiences, we learn a little bit more about our character. We discover how we handle certain situations – both good and bad – as well as form opinions about subjects we’d never been faced with before.
The fear of the unknown can relate to yourself as well, but the more you discover about yourself, the freer you can become from fear. The confidence in knowing how you can handle certain tasks is a freedom everyone should have, the firm knowledge of your likes and dislikes set you free to explore your interests more fully, and knowing that you’ve just cracked the surface? That becomes exciting rather than scary.
TRAVELING FOR BUSINESS IS STILL TRAVELING FOR LEISURE
Do you need to travel often for business? Have you found yourself starting to see this as more of a chore than a delight?
You’re a modern nomad – learn how to live it.
You are not bound by routine, but instead can choose to live in each home away from home as if you can’t get enough. If your comfort zone calls, make sure you have the creature comforts of a soft place to rest your head at night, but use that comfort as a spring board to be daring in other ways. If you know that no matter what you will come back to a safe, dry and warm bed at the end of the night, then use that safety net to go exploring for the rest of the time!
Take that meeting, take that chance and fall into bed exhilarated.
